eeeewww frozen pizza....I was talking about pizza crusts! You can buy these now (a few brands are available in most grocery stores), a can of pizza sauce, cheese of your choice (most choose mozzarella--even available in bags of pregrated!, but there are some other preeeetty dang tasty cheeses that go well on pizza----), herbs and other toppings. But yeah, I guess you could buy a frozen pizza too
We usually make our own crusts now, but still usually use a can of the sauce instead of making our own (have a good recipe, but it requires hours to simmer to get the right flavor). Only issue I have with the crusts is they are all thin--I like THICK pizza (born in Chicago remember!), so my homemade crusts are usually pan style

all this talk of pizza is making me hungry! (and as I have not had dinner yet...guess its a sign to go and figure out what we still have to eat around here------)

Cosy is pretty anti-frozen pizza. So be careful what you say.

We are having pulled pork tonight. Yum yum yum!

not completely, I have just found that making it myself is better (for me and tastier too).

not a fan of pork at all--

so the xmas decorations are out, sigh, guess I have to get my lights out and see if those led ropes are all dead (they are never supposed to do that, yet every year at least 2 sets go kaput!)...

but the good news: turkey day is coming soon to a table near you

Mmm, cookies. Me like cookies. And turkey. Lots and lots of turkey! Cannot wait for Thanksgiving!

Zoo trip tomorrow! Exciting, and nerve wracking. I am the only teacher going, so I'm in charge. First year ever doing it. Nothing like being tossed right in.

We went to Brookfield. I had been there before a few years ago, but never with a group of students. It went well though and everything still seemed to go off without a hitch. I am glad it is done. I was in charge of 84 high schoolers. But they all did really well so there is that.

Mmm, cookies. Nom nom nom.

yeah coooooookkkkkieeeessss!!!!

and now it really is beginning to look a lot like christmas (even amazon's website is slow), had to run some errands (before the S word) and loads of people out and about (on a friday????)....got my stuff done, got my outdoor lights up, got my herbs all packed up for the year (the last clippings )....changed cars....all ready for winter!

I had a paraprofessional and then 4 adult chaperons to help me. But basically I was running it and doing everything. I'm just glad it went well.

My wife is going to be making some cookies, definitely going to snitch some!

I'm waiting until Monday to start using Amazon. Then I start getting 10% cash back if I use my credit card. So ya.

glad you had other adults (and happy it went well).
no cookies here ...and yeah, hubby would 'snitch' some of them anyways (probably before I had more than a few!)
not planning on doing much more xmas shopping--got most of my gifts bought already (just gotta find where I stashed some of them ...happens when you shop tooo early). Have to get my international gifts together and out so they make it by the end of the year.
Then ...time to do the card list again, got the cards, now just have to re-confirm the addresses (I have a sister who loves to move every year or so, must be the gypsy blood from my dad's side). Its my usually after thanksgiving day process...and I hope to stay on track this year, a few of the past years things got...passed me

heard a delightful xmas tune on the radio (yes, stations are now playing all xmas tunes /ugh)....I want a hippopotamus for christmas! hilarious!!!

We haven't made cookies yet. Looks like it might not happen until Tuesday night at this point. Nothing like last minute cooking!

Parent teacher conferences tomorrow. Should be "fun"... Hopefully none of them are horrible...

I don't want Xmas music yet. Not until after Thanksgiving is over. Then I guess it is okay.

ah your favorite activity--the P/T conferences, hope they are 'easier' at this school than your last one (beware of the helicopters!)

wasnt trying to listen to xmas music, but the station I sometimes listen to had it on while I was scanning for something to listen to....didnt realize they had gone to the dark side so early

and tuesday isnt last minute...wednesday night (after say 10pm) is last minute!

though it is cold enough and we have snow so it feels more like xmas than turkey day.

I wouldn't say they were easier, larger school so more likelihood of helicopter parents. Mine weren't bad at all though, which is good.

Wife wanted to listen to some Xmas music yesterday. I caved and then regretted it... On Friday it will be okay. But not yet.

We are having some warmer weather, getting into the upper 40's, possibly 50's tomorrow. It is melting the snow pretty quickly, which is nice. Just as long as it doesn't freeze on the roads.

glad it went well, and sorry about the music (glad my neighbors are away as well--their music makes xmas music in july look appealing!)

yes nice weather today--was all set to be frozen on my errands, but it was nice and warm (took off my earmuffs and almost left my coat at home as well)

and since its past midnight here:

happy thanksgiving (for those of you celebrating it today)

Weather was a bit windy and wet on our drive down but the drive back up was nice. Been a very busy past few days. Sadly I developed a sore throat Wednesday morning and it has stuck with me since. I think my wife is going to make me go to a Urgent Care or whatever today... Thought today it seems to be feeling better. So we will see.

My wife went black friday shopping with my mom and sister. 5:30am I get a call asking to bring her phone to her (she called from my moms phone)... So that was fun... She still owes me for that.

Overall Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. Looking forward to Christmas break in 3 weeks for even more fun!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving cosy!

oooo, I know how fond you are of sore throats--so I hope its just a quick one.

and now we have SNOW!!! (and on the mailboxes in our front entry way: "on friday Dec 4th, we will be fixing bad wood on your balconies." er...in the middle of winter??? SERIOUSLY???? yes these people are totally and completely idiotic, cant wait for them to want to do something like fix the roofs in january!)

Was not a quick one. Took a week to heal. I think it is finally better today, knock on wood... It wasn't a terrible one compared to previous ones, but still was not fun to have. Especially since I refused to miss work.

Seems like a very strange time to be working on the balconies... Of course we are still waiting on them to fix the leak on the sealing of the windows. So no more rain blows in to the apartment. Because that was not so much fun...

sorry to hear that--glad its on the mend.

and for the stupid groups tricks:
have been waiting for a few gifts to arrive via usps, yesterday I was out for about 1 hour (gee my one time I left the house this week), and when I got home there was a 'we missed you' receipt in my mail box, as I had been waiting for a bunch of items (and there were no tracking numbers listed), I did not check on which ones --there were 2 listed-- these were (hubby did verify that he got an email saying it was one of his --so I know that one was/is his)...later last night I finally got around to checking the other items I am waiting for--one is now backordered until january (good thing its not a gift!)...and one says "DELIVERED IN/AT MAILBOX" yesterday at 3pm!!! (er, it wouldnt fit in my mail box and there were no packages on the ground when I got home at 3:45!!! sooooo where IS my package!??? had to wait until this morning to call the idiots (you wonder why folks go postal?) and found that my carrier decided that I would be home so he just changed the status to delivered even though he did not!
arrrgh! this is the second time this fall that I have had something say delivered when it was not----the last one said it was delivered at noon--well it wasnt, and I WAS here so I called the po and asked who and where it was delivered and found the carrier then had decided that ALL the packages in our subdivision would all be delivered at the same time--he didnt want to have to take the time to do it at each separate house!!!--and that it had not yet been delivered (it was almost 4pm at that time)
I really REALLY HATE this place!!

Fortunately my neighbours are great and we always take in packages for each other so I rarely have that problem. I do have the issue of what to get for a 9 year old boy, will be spending Christmas in teh same house but I dbarely know him. Any suggestions? What's cool with 9 year olds atm?
